Understanding Web Development: Part 2 (The Exciting Conclusion)

Lets talk changes. There are lots of little tweaks that websites need, and some that are not-so little. Some of these "small" changes may seem easy, but in reality they are not. Since this is occasionally the situation with tweaking a website, eMUNICATIONS will sometimes try to persuade their clients from making small changes because we have their wallet in mind. If a client insists on one of these changes it has to be kept in mind that these things take time. Time is money.

Another important consideration when dealing with web development is content. Content is very important for a site. It determines wether search engines like: google, yahoo, and bing! find your website, it helps keep users on your website, and it also fills white space on your website so that it can look pretty. A very important reminder for those looking to have a website built is: We do not know your business, you need to provide us with content, and not the otherway around. This will help you by having quality content, that comes from a knowledgable background.

Finally we will talk about the actual process of making your website. First we will register a domain name for your business. For those less familiar with the internet: a Domain is your web address. For example eMUNICATION's domain is: www.eMUNICATIONS.com.

Next we will begin putting together your site based on your specifications. This process is probably the longest of those involved with creating a website. It involves things like: Creating a calendar that you can add events to, making a blog that posts to your facebook, and other cool features like that.

After that we will begin to design the website. This process begins with our desiner presenting a rough composition of what he thinks the website should look like. Next, after client approval, we begin styling the site according to the composition presented to you. This is the step where everything begins coming together for the site.

Last, but certainly not least in the process of web development would be SEO. S-E-O stands for Search Engine Optimization. We will optimize your site's content based on what is provided to make the search engines find it, and place it near the top of search results. Without this step it would be hard for customers to find your site, unless they were directed there by you, or an acquaintance.

Once all of this comes together you will have a lean-mean-customer attracting machine of a website. So call us today to get started with your web development project!

David

David is with eMUNICATIONS off and on as his schedule permits. You see David is a college student making him notoriously unreliable; however, he has a talented eye at catching errors on websites. This is the reason we put up with him -- that and he is awesome at paintball. David also contributes in CSS and page layout for websites in development and refreshing. David is great with clients and is very patient in training them on their administrative systems.
